Green's 'confidence' boosted by Megan Fox

Megan Fox is one hot — and capable! — stepmom.

Fox's husband Brian Austin Green has high praise indeed for her devotion to Kassius, his 8-year-old son with ex Vanessa Marcil.

"[Megan] is absolutely my better half in parenting," Green, 37, says of Fox, 24, in the October issue of Details. "She just gets it. It's instinctual for her."

Kassius was reportedly one of the few attendees at the couple's hush-hush wedding in Hawaii this past June. Fox called herself "really maternal" in the March issue of W magazine, and shares a home with Green and the little boy.

The actors began dating about six years ago — when Fox was just 18, and he was 31. "When we met, I had just separated from Kash's mom and a relationship was the last thing on my mind, " Green tells the magazine. "It's not something I ever thought would be serious. But she brought out parts of me that I had lost in my last relationship. I had come off of '90210,' and I never wanted to leave my house. I was afraid of the press. I was afraid of people's opinions of me," he confides. "Megan was a big part of boosting my confidence. And at the same time, I was somebody responsible and grounded for her to be around. We just matched."

CANNES, France – Shia LaBeouf says the second “Transformers” movie got too big for its own good — but the third one brings the heart back to the franchise.
LaBeouf, who starts work on the next “Transformers” sequel Tuesday, said the third installment will be the best one yet. The new script restores a human element that got lost in the second movie, LaBeouf said.

The ever evolving relationship between Megan Fox and Michael Bay

>> Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Megan Fox walked away from “Transformers 3″ because director Michael Bay was “verbally abusive” toward her and “she had enough and decided to get out early,” an individual close to the actress has told TheWrap.

TheWrap’s emails to Bay’s representation were not immediately returned.

Contacted by TheWrap, Fox’s publicist would only reiterate a statement released Wednesday night to People.com, saying the actress “left the project on her own and wishes the franchise well.”

That doesn’t square with the version Paramount put forth Wednesday, when the studio confirmed to TheWrap that Fox’s option hadn’t been picked up for the third installment of the blockbuster franchise as a result of the new direction of Ehren Kruger’s screenplay.

Given that the story broke Wednesday on Deadline, it’s highly plausible that Paramount studio chairman Brad Grey’s well-known relationship with editor-in-chief Nikki Finke played a part in how the story was initially spun.

The studio stood by that position on Thursday with the statement: “Paramount had the unilateral right to exercise an option for Megan Fox to appear in ‘Transformers 3.’ Paramount at its sole election allowed the option to lapse.”

And while Deal Central was skeptical at first that Fox would walk away from such a lucrative role, persistent whispers around Hollywood indicated that there was another side of the story.

TheWrap’s calls to Paramount on Thursday evening were not immediately returned.

Bay has a history of demeaning his leading ladies, including “Pearl Harbor” star Kate Beckinsale; an individual close to the actress recalled that the director “wasn’t very nice” to her on the set, either.

Apparently, Fox wasn’t the only “Transformers” cast member affected by Bay’s rude behavior. TheWrap also learned that “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” star Isabel Lucas chose not to join her co-stars on a publicity tour for the film because she didn’t get along with the director, who was described as being “too powerful” and “not well-liked” by the female talent community.

It’s no secret that Bay has a reputation for being an extremely controlling filmmaker who can be difficult to work with at times — but directors aren’t required to be “nice.” Just ask George Clooney and Lily Tomlin, the respective stars of David O. Russell’s “Three Kings” and “I Heart Huckabees.”

Another individual close to the sequel’s production told TheWrap that Bay “wants his actresses to look a certain way, and if they can’t meet his absurd standards of beauty, he gets rid of them.”

Megan Fox Left ‘Transformers’ Because of Michael Bay’s Abusive Ways
Director was not happy with the star’s looks, made no attempt at hiding it

Speculation is starting to build up as to why Megan Fox has decided to leave the “Transformers” franchise.

This week, a rumor that had been making the rounds for months was confirmed, much to the disappointment of true fans: Megan Fox had left “Transformers” and would not be appearing in the third installment of the franchise. Talk of how director Michael Bay had fired her for being an obnoxious star who’d always shoot off her mouth without thinking of consequences was followed by a statement from the star, saying she’d left of her own accord. More on her departure has emerged and it seems Bay was indeed the one who pushed Fox over the edge.

TheWrap has learned from sources on the set that Megan decided to leave the franchise because she could no longer take Bay’s abuse. The director, known for being very strict and demanding of his stars, reportedly enforces a code on how the actors he works with, especially women, must look and, for one reason or another, Fox no longer fit in it. To make her see that, Bay would often abuse her verbally in front of other members of the staff (this also happened while shooting for “Transformers 2”) and she decided she no longer wanted to go through that again.

“Megan Fox walked away from ‘Transformers 3’ because director Michael Bay was ‘verbally abusive’ toward her and ‘she had enough and decided to get out early,’ an individual close to the actress has told TheWrap. […] It’s no secret that Bay has a reputation for being an extremely controlling filmmaker who can be difficult to work with at times. […] Another individual close to the sequel’s production told TheWrap that Bay wants his actresses to look a certain way, and if they can’t meet his absurd standards of beauty, he gets rid of them’,” the aforementioned movie publication says.

Though the story might be somewhat of an exaggeration, other media outlets also claim that Fox’s departure had something to do with her deteriorating relationship with the director. The Sun, for instance, says Bay felt that Fox was getting too thin and that she was a far cry from her curvy, healthy-looking self in the second film. Given that she was in for some weight loss with the physically demanding scenes in the threequel, Bay asked her to gain some weight, which she refused to do, choosing instead to just leave.

“Megan stormed out after a huge row with Michael Bay. He thinks she has lost too much weight and looks too frail. He wanted her to put on some weight and it all kicked off. The crew don’t think she looks well, let alone the wholesome, curvy star they cast in the first film. She’s going for this gaunt, pale image and it just looks unhealthy,” a source from the production tells the British tab. Right now, though, both Paramount and Fox are standing by their initial story, saying only that the actress is no longer a part of the “Transformers” family.

Will Megan Sink or Swim Without Transformers?

Just last year actress Megan Fox was one of Hollywood’s hottest commodities, appearing on every major magazine cover and dominating red carpets around the globe. But with a diva reputation and news that she will no longer be a part of the film franchise that made her a star, is Megan Fox’s time in Hollywood almost up?

Despite rampant speculation that she was fired from the third installment of ‘Transformers,’ Fox has said she chose to leave the blockbuster on her own accord, with many speculating she had had enough of director Michael Bay’s “verbal abuse” and wanted out. And the beef between the two certainly comes as no surprise – in the past, Fox has referred to her former boss as “Hitler” and he reportedly said she needs to “grow up.”

But given that her other movie attempts have been box office flops (most recently, “Jennifer’s Body” debuted at a dismal number five, earning just $6.8 million), and that she’s been slammed by movie crews, will other big name directors be willing to take a gamble and hire the 23-year-old star?

“It’s never a good idea to speak negatively about a director you work with – it’s a small community,” said Hollywood producer Nathan Folks. “Actors sometimes think they can get away with anything, the egos some possess are out of control. When they stop getting work, they will learn.”

Matt Atchity, the editor in chief for movie site Rotten Tomatoes, echoed Folks’ sentiment.

“You have to question the motives of an actor who is turning down a role in a movie that is going to be massive,” Atchity said. “Michael Bay does big blockbusters. They do a ton of business and you get them in front of a bunch of people. They may not be critically acclaimed, but you can’t say that those movies are not successful.”

On the flip side, if Bay’s alleged on-set “abuse” is in any way accurate, perhaps Fox should be hailed for speaking out.

An undisclosed source close to Megan says the startlet recently had a scare with skin cancer which she disclosed in this month’s issue of Allure. The source reveals, “Megan is really frightened about skin cancer because of the harsh tanning from the last movie. She knew it’d be something Michael wouldn’t be willing to compromise on, but…it’s her life at stake. More sun damage, simply wasn’t an option.”

“If Megan was indeed verbally abused, and pulls back the curtain on what is really going on in Hollywood, and tells her story to the right person like Oprah, she could reach icon status,” said Associated Press pop culture reporter Natalie Rotman. “There has been a long history of tyrant male directors in Hollywood. If Bay really did verbally abuse Fox and she is the first to speak up to a bully director, it could make her a pioneer.”

Still, Fox might have trouble pulling on the public’s heart strings, especially with her negative reputation.

“Megan has got some work to do to keep her current persona from affecting the roles that she’s going to get, or if she’s going to be able to get roles at all because no production is going to want somebody that has been seen as trouble,” Atchity added. “You get yourself labeled as problematic and troublesome, and that’s kind of the kiss of death.”

So is Fox is going away – or is she here to stay?

“Only time will tell if Megan Fox is a hero or a liability,” Rotman added. “If she makes the right choices, she could definitely have what it takes to sustain a very lucrative career.”

And who knows, maybe she is much smarter than most give her credit for.

“If ‘Transformers 3′ tanks, then she’ll be seen as the genius who got out early,” said Atchity.

Stay tuned….

Introducing The New “Megan Fox”

Nothing like a former Victoria’s Secret lingerie model to get Optimus primed. Good thing they did not select a top pornstar to take the challenge.

Multiple sources confirm to E! News that model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will be replacing the MIA Megan Fox as Shia LaBeouf’s love interest in Transformers 3.

“She’s accepted the offer, and I think they’re just waiting for her to get her work visa since she’s British,” says a source close to the production.

And, as usual when it comes to a Michael Bay explosionfest, hotness wins out over talent…

See, Huntington-Whiteley has never acted before. But she did work with Transformers helmer Bay last year on a Victoria’s Secret commercial—and apparently the two hit it off.

“Michael Bay has flown her out here a few times to screen test,” says another production insider.

“She has absolutely zero acting experience, so we’ll see how that goes. But he likes her, and that’s all that matters.”

Which is more than can be said for Fox, whose relationship with the notoriously prickly director publicly deteriorated, with her comparing him to Hitler.

Meanwhile, sources confirm that Huntington-Whiteley will be playing a completely new character, not the same role as Fox.

There was no immediate comment from Bay, Huntington-Whiteley or Paramount.

Aside from Huntington-Whiteley, Bay was reportedly considering a number of other lookers for the part, including Miranda Kerr, Vanessa Hudgens and Bar Refaeli.

Principal shooting is set to kick off in July. Aside from Huntington-Whiteley, other newcomers to the cast will include some badass new robots along with humans Patrick Dempsey, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Ken Jeong.
